Who Is Isys Ephex?
2CW News is proud to make Isys Ephex the first Star we profile. Isys Ephex is one of the most talented 2CW wrestlers in the locker room. As one of the few people that have not missed a 2CW show since its debut, Isys is hated and respected by the fans of the company. Mixing a combination of mat based moves with his vast knowledge of Japanese wrestling, Ephex dazzled opponents and fans alike in the early shows of 2CW. On the debut show, he defeated Loca Vida with his finisher, a variation of the Burning Hammer. From there, he began a feud that lasted months against Spike Dudley. While he lost some battles, Isys was able to gain multiple victories against the former ECW, WWE, and TNA star in a dog collar match and an 30 minute Iron Man Match. He continued his streak of great matches as he defeated Gordy and was narrowly defeated by Slyck Wagner Brown. In 2CW's debut in Rochester, Isys was again defeated by the debuting Eddie Edwards in what was considered one of the best matches in 2CW history. Even in defeat, Isys showed he could hang with anybody. From there, Isys would avenge both his losses against Slyck Wagner Brown and Eddie Edwards in two back-to-back Syracuse shows. Due to his string of impressive wins, Isys was paired with TNA's X-Division Champion Chris Sabin in the main event of 2CW's return to Rochester. Even though Isys did not win, he won over the crowd with another great performance. Even though he was a favorite to win the tournament for the new 2CW Championship, Isys was defeated by Jason Axe by disqualification in the second round of the tournament. He would avenge that loss the next night at Living on the Edge by defeating John Walters. Walters would even the score in Binghamton in another great match.

Unfortunately, from this point on, we entered a dark period in Isys' 2CW career. While he was having great matches with Eddie Edwards, the next two matches ended without a winner. When Edwards asked Ephex to continue, he refused. He then had a good match with Antonio Thomas, but again, there was no winner and he walked out of the match. At the Back-2-Back events, the confusion continued as Isys wrestled the first night in a comedy match with JD Love as his partner; wrestling as fan favorites. They would win, but Isys would later turn down a challenge by Eddie Edwards. The next night, again Isys turned down the challenge by Edwards. He would later be the runner up in a battle royal to determine the number one contender for the 2CW Title. On the first night of the Unfinished Business weekend, Isys returned somewhat to his old self with a strong showing in the four-way match with John Walters, Antonio Thomas, and the Best Wrestler In The World, Bryan Danielson. The next night, he was back to being in a comedy match with Love as his partner in a loss to the returning Killer Steves. He did insert himself into the main event of the night, but didn't do much besides brawling to the back with Samoa Joe. Isys returned to his winning ways with a win against the Steves with Thomas as his partner in Syracuse. He would later get involved in the main event, costing the fans a definitive winner. This once again angered the fans, but not in the good way. In the four-way match in Binghamton, Isys was eliminated first and would later anger the fans by illegally eliminating Eddie Edwards with a pile driver on the floor that injured Edwards. Isys was then in another good, but somewhat disappointing match against The Human Tornado. It was disappointing because, there was a hope that Isys would be getting serious again. That hope was officially lost the next night, when he was in another comedy tag match against the Blue Meanie and JD Love; with Zaquary Springate III as his partner.

In Amsterdam, there was an opening of the dark clouds that have been over Isys' career in 2CW. He defeated Brian Fury in what may have been the best match of the night to become the number one contender for the 2CW Title. He would end up losing that match against champion Slyck Wagner Brown, but it was in another great showing. In fact, at one point, a Slyck fan catcalled Isys by saying he couldn't wrestle. Isys pulled out a string of moves, tied up Slyck like a pretzel, and told the fan to F-off. It was the old Isys returning before our eyes. Hopefully it will be a sight we will continue to see from now on.

Since this was written, Isys finished his feud with Eddie Edwards in Binghamton on 7/26. In a match that was billed that there must be a winner, Isys and Eddie tore it up and put on the best match of the night and possibly the best match of the year. No screwy endings, just two guys letting it all hang out. Isys proved he was back to his old form and that's all we have been asking for. Welcome back Isys Ephex.
